What a Gala!

CFD put on the glitz and glamor at its 2010 Annual Meet and Greet Banquet and 2009 Awards Presentations. We had 60 banquet attendees the year! This was a super event and we had a great time.

Banquet was held at Timpano's Chop House in Orlando Florida. CFD extends much appreciation and special thanks to member Jan Coudriet for the contacts and connection to this restaurant. Our room was amazing, service as superb, and the food - fantastic.

The evening started out at 6:00pm with cocktails. As each attendee arrived, they were given a program, complementary raffle tickets, and a Silent Auction bidding number. At the table each attendee received a hand-etched, stemless wineglass as a souvenir for the evening made by Nancy Qualls. Partygoers mingled and started their warm-up bids for the Silent Auction items. Additional raffle tickets were sold through out the evening to increase chances of winning.

Appetizers and dinner started at 7pm along with the drawing of raffle tickets. Food, drinks, and raffle items flowed. Bidding on Silent Auction items was fast and feverish. At the close of dinner we completed final raffle drawings and did last call for any final bids on the Silent Auction items.

The Presentation Ceremony for our 2009 Competition Year Awards started at 8:00pm. CFD had 12 horse and rider teams submitting for awards this year which we were extremely thrilled about. Grand Champions received a saddlepad embroidered with the CFD logo and a ribbon and certificate, Reserve Champions and High Point winners had a their choice of a Show Tote or Grooming tote embroidered with CFD along with a ribbon and certificate.

This year, along with our regular competition awards, CFD created three new fun award categories which we had a high level of submissions for and which were well received in the spirit of fun at the banquet night. See the end of our awards winners page to see the fun awards and recipients.

CFD also did a presentation and special thanks with a gift of etched glassware to our retiring CFD board members for their service to the club: Past President: Camille Brinkman, former VP Susan McIntire, and former Secretary Mary Robinson.

Presentations were also made to our existing CFD board members who graciously volunteer their time to the club, and who are responsible for organizing and running all our CFD programs, events, and activities which keep the club fun, active, and growing: VP Susan Croft, Program Director: Diane Delmain, Treasurer and Membership Chairperson: Kimberly Puthoff, and new 2010 Secretary: Kathy Dennis.

Thanks to all our CFD members, friends, and family who came out to the Banquet to have fun, support the club, and honor our award winners. It's not often we get to celebrate our successes with our horses. We were very happy to see all the support from our club for our competitors this night.

And finally, a very special and heartfelt thanks to our 2010 Banquet Team who contributed countless volunteer hours, hard work, dedication, and excellent organization in putting together this year's Award Ceremony, Banquet, Prizes, Ribbons, Raffle and Silent Auction. Give these ladies a big round of applause. They deserve it!
